UMCC Extend Condolences Over the Passing of The Honourable Duff Roblin May 31, 2010
The University of Manitoba Campus Conservatives wish to express regret over the passing of the Honourable Dufferin “Duff” Roblin, P.C., C.C., O.M. at the age of 92.

Mr. Roblin led a long and full life that was dedicated to public service and his record as Premier in the province of Manitoba remains unmatched by any one in the position, prior to him or afterward. Mr. Roblin implemented many exciting and bold new initiatives that modernized Manitoba with respect to healthcare, hydro, roads, and education, including significant funding increases and upgrades to the University of Manitoba, where he was once enrolled as a student. In 2008 he was named as “The Greatest Manitoban,” and has been called “The Greatest Prime Minister Canada Never Had.”

It is a testament to Duff Roblin that he proved to be an inspiration for so many generations of Manitobans. From those who lived and voted for his administration 50 years ago, to current PC Manitoba Leader Hugh McFadyen, and even young members of the UMCC, Duff Roblin was a political idol to many and respected by all who knew him.

Mr. Roblin was a tremendous leader, premier, visionary and statesman who provided a strong voice for Manitoba and Canada. As we reflect upon his lifetime of service and achievement, the Executive extends condolences to his family and friends on behalf of all members of the UMCC. Duff Roblin’s presence and wisdom will be severely missed.

Changes to the executive September 10, 2009
Sadly, Stephen McCreary and Alexander Menticoglou have resigned from their respective roles as President and Vice-President on the UMCC executive, both citing new employment circumstances.

As a result, the exective members met in late August and restructured the organization. On September 2, elections were held at the first meeting of the school year, and the new executive was formed. We are excited to have Kyle Mirecki on board, and are happy to hear that Stephen McCreary is staying on to help out with web presence.

We look forward to an exciting school year, with many events in the works! Please explore the site and contact us for more information!
